Not being an emblazoned house, it is certainly the most striking building in the parish of Barqueiros. It was built between 1910 and 1915 by a fortunate son of Arrais, when he returned from Brazil. His desire was to build on that hill a palatial house that, in all of its harmonious architectural ensemble, reminds one of the colonial houses of Manaus (Brazil) built by Portuguese emigrants in the 18th and 19th centuries.
