Quinta Trás o Rio

Located on the coast of Alto Minho, North of Portugal, this space is 5 minutes from the beach of Vila Praia de Âncora and at the foot of Serra D'Arga. Surrounded by a rural area where subsistence agriculture predominates, it is an excellent place to be enchanted by the folklore and traditions of the Minho people.

If you are looking for a place to rest and at the same time discover a new culture with secular roots, this is the place!

We put at the disposal of our visitors several adventure and nature activities, such as hiking in the mountains, horseback riding, riding lessons, maritime sports and many more activities!

After cooking this is the space where you can gather the family at the table. A cozy space with the necessary conditions to make you feel at home.

Library
The facilities at Quinta de Trás o Rio are designed for all types of guests. So we created a space and literature where you can discover some of the titles we make available, or even use a computer.

Equipped communal kitchen
We have a typical Alto-Minho kitchen fully equipped so you can prepare your meals if you wish. Why not use it to learn our gastronomy?

Rustic Suite by the pool
If you want an even more reserved and exclusive space, we have a suite located in an annex building, next to the pool, in the middle of the garden.

Pool
A swimming pool surrounded by the rustic granite house and the green of the gardens. Here you can refresh yourself, use the terrace overlooking the valley of the Âncora river, its mouth and the beach of Vila Praia de Âncora and also the Serra d’Arga. We call this diversity of landscapes “Landscape Mosaic”, come check it out!

We have a covered area for several cars within our space. Your means of transport also deserves the best comfort!
