Vila Praia de Âncora is a fishing village full of traditions. The River Âncora flows into the sea, next to the shore where a small swimming pool is formed, suitable for the children's games, is delimited by a pontoon, near the Lagarteiro Fort and a fishing port; the southern part, which is accessed through a bridge reserved for pedestrians, is shaped by a dune cord, protected by long wooden walkways, on a large stretch of beach to the dog fort in Gelfa. In front of the beach the village has a marginal and ecovia, with an urbanistic surrounding, where we find several restaurants of fish and seafood.
Vila Praia de Âncora has its own dynamic, in the summer several sports activities with connection to the sea, such as surfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach handball, paddle, surf schools for initiation to modality, which can be practiced any time of the year. In the center and in the streets, the Village is filled with people, for a visit to its commercial stores, to see the customs of the people, its architecture and local culture.
