Magnificent building, with the Castro coat of arms in the center - six washers inside an oval shield, supported by two lions armed with lieutenants. It currently houses the Municipal Library.
Rua Antonio Jose Duro
Vila Nova de Cerveira
Its classification as a Property of Public Interest, in 1970, was due to the fact that it is a beautiful building from the 17th century, which was set on fire and looted during the Restoration Wars. Rebuilt in the 18th century, it acquired the architectural features that it still maintains today.
It contains a vast architrave gallery with Doric columns. The main façade has two bodies with four balconies, six gargoyles and a large cantilever. Also of great importance is the magnificent interior staircase, as well as a large columned balcony over a large walled garden, which is located at the rear of the building.
