Tradition says that in the place where a granite cross stands today, south of the chapel, Our Lady of the Incarnation appeared, represented in the form of a small image, seated inside a leaf and glass oratory with wings. He adds that in a grotto, near the chapel, lived a hermit who was guardian of the Lady.

Description

A document from the Parish Memories of 1758, on the other hand, made reference to a chapel of Our Lady of the Incarnation, of poor construction, located in Monte de Crasto. On the altar carved in wood was the image of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação and on the side altar were the images of Senhor do Socorro, Santa Luzia and Santa Brízida. In 1944, a fire destroyed the chapel, escaping the image of the patron saint because she was in the parish church.

Immediately the reconstruction of the chapel started, which was gradually taking place, according to the donations of the faithful, and opened in 1967. Later on, a road and arrangements were made outside the chapel. Source: https: / /www.cm-vncerveira.pt/
