Situated in the lezíria, in an area that is already in transition from Ribatejo to Alentejo, the village of Coruche is a typical and quiet town, whose low, white houses with good popular architecture extend across the plain by the river Sorraia.

Surrounded by fertile fields, this is a region in which agriculture and horse breeding are the predominant activities, highlighting in the landscape the vast areas of cork oaks from which the cork is extracted from which Coruche is one of the main national producers .

Coruche also has several historical monuments, testimonies of other times, such as the bridge of the Corôa (of Roman origin), the medieval Aqueduct of Monte da Barca and several churches mostly originating in the century. XVII.

Nearby, the Açudes da Agolada and Monte da Barca are very fresh leisure areas and for this reason are very popular in the summer.
