Alpiarça is a Portuguese village in Ribatejo, belonging to the District of Santarém, region (NUTS II) of Alentejo and sub-region (NUTS III) of Lezíria do Tejo, with about 6 000 inhabitants. It still belonged to the old province of Ribatejo, today but without any political-administrative significance, but constant in the discourses of self and hetero-identification.

It is the seat of a small municipality with 95.36 km² of area and 7 702 inhabitants (2011), which corresponds to a population density of 80.8 inhab / km², being one of the six municipalities in Portugal that have only one parish, corresponding the entire territory of the municipality. The municipality is limited to the northeast and east by the municipality of Chamusca, to the southeast and southwest by Almeirim and to the northwest by Santarém.
Located in the vast plain of the Ribatejo, the Portuguese region where traditions related to horse breeding and the bullfighting festival are more established, Alpiarça is a quiet city, preserving in its surroundings testimonies of human occupation already in prehistoric times such as the Necropolises of Meijão and Cabeço da Bruxa, nearby.
A must-see on a visit is the Casa-Museu dos Patudos, which was the residence of José Relvas, a Portuguese diplomat and politician from the 19th century. XIX-XX, and where you can appreciate the masterpieces of painting, excellent pieces of porcelain, bronze, furniture and tapestry, which constitute the filling of this house.
