Casa Barbot, dating from the early 20th century, is a unique example of Art Nouveau in Vila Nova de Gaia. This genre is patented in the beautiful motifs present both in tiles, as in graphs, stucco and glass.

Description

The refinement of its decoration is due to the mastery of the work of the gaiense sculptor Alves de Sousa, the painter Veloso Salgado and the plasterer Baganha, who together contributed to the creation of an exquisite house that also includes a garden, greenhouse and gazebo.

Since February 3, 2007, the building has hosted the services of the Culture Department of the Câmara de Gaia.
