The beginning of the works of this religious monument of Gothic, Manueline, Baroque and Rococo characteristics, took place in 1318. It has a Latin cross plan with a single nave, with a large transept. Outside, the polygonal headboard stands out, as well as a large radiant type rose window.

Inside, the nave is covered with richly decorated octagonal carvings. Also noteworthy is the Capela dos Fundadores (Founders Chapel), where its Manueline-style tombs and rococo organ are found. The low choir is run by a two-row chair and preserves two painted altarpieces. The high choir is covered by a vaulted ceiling covered with heavily decorated carved coffered ceilings.
