Founded in the 1940s by his mother, it began as a grocery store with the sale of cod and good wines from the region to the public, standing out from the start for a careful selection of products. It was then in the 60s that Julinha, daughter, made a stronger contribution to what would become a true gastronomic marvel, with the famous Julinha cod that has lasted all these years.
Nowadays, although recreating a more modern atmosphere, it remains traditional and intimate, valuing above all the quality of the cuisine. With continuous work and a rigorous selection of ingredients, Chef Fernando (grandson) remains faithful to the ancestral teachings of traditional Portuguese cuisine and to the secrets of convent cooking left by previous generations.

In this house, Chef Fernando continues to surprise with some of the best flavors in the region, such as the famous Bacalhau, Cabritinho do Monte and Veal Barrosã. In winter there is the famous Portuguese Cozido with meats and homemade sausages, never forgetting the pot food always present in everyday life.
Pasta Parola, Pica no Chão, Spanish Cod and Feijoada are other examples of what is best done here. Today, an author's work is also being carried out on the exponential expansion of Portuguese and universal flavors.
