Description

CHÃ DE PARADA I
Large dolmen, formed by nine pillars, with an access corridor that is distinguished from the funerary chamber in plan and elevation, and that originally consisted of three pillars on each side. Inside, there are still visible engravings, which we must keep. The roof slab of the dolmen is broken, missing those from the corridor and the slab that would function as the entrance door, which was accessed by an open space. National Monument since 1910, it became the ex-libris of the village and the municipality of Baião. Period: Between the 1st and 2nd half of the IV millennium BC

MENINAS DE CASTRO 3
Medium sized dolmen, probably closed, which was amputated by the road, as well as the papaya that covered it to the east. The slab found on the roof was found about 30m to the northeast of the monument, serving as a landmark for municipal division. Its configuration led to the supposition that it could have served as a cover for this monument. Period: 3960 - 3630 BC

OUTEIRO DE ANTE 1
Large monument, built on a natural elevation, standing out strongly in the landscape. It is an open dolmen, without a corridor, with an elongated polygonal shape, and composed of seven pillars. Unfortunately, some of these pillars were left to be used in the construction of the Tapado that is immediately to the west. Period: 1st half of the 4th millennium BC (?)

OUTEIRO DE ANTE 3
The first monument excavated in the Serra da Aboboreira, in 1978, within the scope of the Archaeological Field. Medium sized dolmen, with a small entrance to the east, marked by a threshold. It only conserves four of its seven original pillars, identified in the excavations by its settlement wells. In addition to a possible fragment of the lid, which remains on top of the papaya, two other fragments of pillars were used to mark the location of the missing pillars. Period: 1st half of the 4th millennium BC (?)

OUTEIRO DE GREGOS 2
The monument is located in the center of a large ground, on a granite outcrop, standing out in the landscape. Dolmen closed but with a small “window” opening to the east. It was decided to keep the lithic breastplate that covered the papaya, building a similar structure in the excavated areas, instead, with a view to the conservation of the monument. Period: 4000-3640 BC

OUTEIRO DE GREGOS 3
The monument is located in the center of a large ground, on a granite outcrop, standing out in the landscape. The papaya contains a closed dolmen, with a small funerary chamber. The stone lining of the mamoa (lithic cuirass) was maintained, being replaced by another in the excavated areas, in order to preserve the monument. Period: 1st met. of the fourth millennium BC
