The popularity of the Church of Salvador de Lufrei is great among rural communities in the North. Secular church since 1455, like the Church of Gondar, was once monastic.
Rua da Igreja, Lufrei

There was a female community of the Order of São Bento - which did not leave us any traces, however. Inscribed in the so-called 'late Romanesque', the building is located in a valley close to two small water courses. The beauty of the exterior is remarkable, as well as that of the interior, decorated with fresh murals.
