It can be walking or cycling. In one way or another, you will be enchanted by the route that Ecopista do Tâmega opens between Amarante and Cabeceiras de Basto. It is a bicycle path that takes advantage of one of the most emblematic railway lines in Portugal, closed in 1990.

The beauty of the natural heritage imposes itself on a smooth and, most importantly, accessible route for everyone. The Tâmega River closely follows almost all of its layout.

The Tâmega Line Ecopista is part of the European Greenway Network, starts at km 12,467, in the city of Amarante, and ends at km 51,733, at the old Arco de Baúlhe station (Cabeceiras de Basto).
