Casa Colombo

Casa Colombo - Porto Santo Museum is located in an articulated set of constructions, today uniformed by works from the 18th and 19th centuries. Cristóvão Colombo lived here during his stay on the island of Porto Santo, after his marriage to Filipa de Moniz, daughter of Bartolomeu Perestrelo, first Captain Donatory of Porto Santo.

Description

The museum opened to the public in 1989, and has since undergone several works to adapt its museum content. Divided into two floors: the ground floor houses a store and a temporary exhibition room dedicated to themes of Portuguese maritime expansion; the first floor is arranged in three thematic rooms.
