Levada da Ribeira da Janela
An excellent levada that has its beginning in Lamaceiros, in Porto Moniz. Along its 13 kilometers of extension, the levada takes hikers into the unique interior of the Ribeira da Janela valley.

Description
Along the way there are several tunnels whose passage is a different experience that does not release your attention. The floor inside the tunnel may be slippery and the rocks on the ceiling may have some unevenness and there may be some waterfalls. It is recommended to bring a flashlight, a waterproof jacket and head protection.
Enjoy and appreciate the fantastic landscapes that are emerging, complemented by the unique flora and fauna of the island of Madeira.
At the end of the route there is the mother of Ribeira da Janela. A fantastic view where the big rocks that paint the landscape with a soft and pleasant gray tone predominate. Pure and crystalline water flows between them, forming several lagoons here and there.
Take the opportunity to relax and rest your legs. Have a picnic to regain strength and, if you want, dive into one of the lagoons to refresh your body and mind.
