The bay of Machico invites you for a walk surrounded by a pleasant landscape of sea and land. To the east of the Machico valley is the Pico de Facho viewpoint, from where you can contemplate the panoramic view from the peaks of the central part of the island to Ponta de São Lourenço.
 
Praia da Banda Além, in Machico bay, is about 125 meters long and 70 meters wide. This beach stands out for having yellow sand imported from Morocco.
