Castanheira de Pera is a Portuguese village in the district of Leiria, in the province of Beira Litoral, integrating the Intermunicipal Community of the Region of Leiria, in Central Portugal, with about 1 300 inhabitants
It is the seat of a small municipality with an area of ??66.78 km² and 3,191 inhabitants (2011). The municipality is limited to the northeast by the municipality of Góis, to the southeast by Pedrógão Grande, to the west by Figueiró dos Vinhos and to the northwest by Lousã. The municipality was created in 1914, previously belonging to Pedrógão Grande.
