On the western coast of the Algarve and in the heart of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina, is the municipality of Aljezur. Of undeniable beauty, it preserves unforgettable landscapes between the mountains and the sea, in harmony with its valuable natural and cultural heritage.

From north to south, from Odeceixe to Carrapateira, the municipality offers countless reasons to visit: monuments, archaeological remains of great interest, museums, windmills, noras and watermills, cultural landscapes, historical-cultural and environmental circuits and walking routes and signposted mountain biking, quality local food and products, festivities of regional and national importance.

The coast cut in a unique way by nature, where, on a coast of about 40 km, there are beaches for all tastes, from Odeceixe, chosen as one of the 7 Wonders - Beaches of Portugal, to Amado, famous worldwide for surfing. Sought throughout the year, they mark in a unique way those who visit them, whether by the sun and the sea, by sports or even for a simple walk by the sea.

Aljezur offers a peaceful holiday, just as it can offer an active holiday, linked to sport and leisure, always in harmony with natural values. Here you will find the ideal place for so-called nature tourism, for the practice of hiking, with observation of flora and fauna, mountain biking, surfing and bodyboarding, sport fishing, orienteering, horse riding, among other modalities. You can be enchanted by traveling the Rota Vicentina, as well as the Via Algarviana, two great pedestrian routes of great importance for the region and absorb everything that these circuits provide.

Aljezur, with countless charms and nooks, of excellent quality products, some from the sea, such as fish (sea bream, sea bream or sea bass) and seafood (barley, mussels, limpets, burgaus, sea urchins), others coming from the land, such as sweet potatoes, peanuts, legumes and others still processed, such as medronho, honey, or the excellent local sweets, give gastronomy one of the strongest appeals for a visit to the region.
