Vila de Góis, seat of the homonymous council, is located in the eastern part of the district of Coimbra, about 45km from that city. The Municipality of Góis is located in the Centro Region, in the sub-region of Pinhal Interior Norte, in a mountainous area, flanked by the rivers Mondego and Zêzere, forming part of the Serra da Lousã orographic complex. The counties that surround it are, to the north, Arganil, Vila Nova de Poiares and Lousã; the east, Arganil and Pampilhosa da Serra; to the west, Lousã and Castanheira de Pêra; south Castanheira de Pêra and Pedrógão Grande.
