May Party: Flowers & Exchanges
May is a month of strong traditions in Vila Nova de Famalicão, with the celebration of two of the most popular feasts of the county: the Flower Festival and the Trade Fair. There are four intense days, with one of the most emblematic Fairs of Famalicão to be crowned by all the beauty, perfume and splendor of the flowers

Antoninas Festivals
It is in the heart of Minho, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, that every year in June, one of the biggest and most lively pilgrimages of the country is celebrated. The Antonines Festivals, in honor of Santo Casamenteiro, mobilize the whole municipality and call the city thousands of tourists.
Through the streets, the aromas of the basil are confused with those of the grilled sardines and pork fare. Eat the Green Broth and drink the red wine from the pipo. The party lasts all night and, a bit throughout the city, there is music, dancing and popular groups. The boys buy a basil to offer their girlfriend with a popular, always original and sometimes crusty or playful. The party takes place on the street and everyone is invited.

Popular marches are one of the highlights of the fiestas. Every year a grand allegorical parade crosses the city center to the Municipa stadium

Medieval Viking Fair of Famalicão
in the whole extension of the Place D. Maria II, it is realized Viking Medieval Fair. The Viking Medieval Fair is an opportunity for everyone to have a party, but also to share diverse knowledge in a familiar, welcoming and fun environment.
The importance of the Viking theme in our county also accompanies, at the gastronomic level, cod, a food that many experts point out as popularized in Portugal by the Norman presence in the territory.

Fado Festival and Amateur Fado Competition
The Fado Festival, organized by the Town Hall of Vila Nova de Famalicão, is scheduled for November 8, at Casa das Artes.
This year the Festival has once again the Fado Amador Competition, whose entries are open until October 25th.
