Baraça Brothers – Barcelos Figure Crafts
The “Baraça” are one of the most respected and traditional families in the universe of handicrafts in Barcelos, which has been predominant for some years. Fernando Baraça son of Ana Baraça, tutelary figure of Barcelona handicrafts and creator of the Barcelos rooster. The heirs of this legacy are Vítor Gonçalves and Moisés Gonçalves, the Baraça Brothers who have extended this legacy that has existed for over 100 years.
The Baraça Brothers are linked to a brotherhood. The gastronomic brotherhood “O Galo de Barcelos”, has as its main objective the increase of initiatives that aim to promote and disseminate the image and the Galo de Barcelos, in its various aspects of potential gastronomic, tourist and artistic value.
