Located in the heart of Baixo Alentejo, Aljustrel is a Portuguese village belonging to the District of Beja region of the South of Portugal. with about 4 600 inhabitants, in the parish of Aljustrel and Rio de Moinhos. Aljustrel is well known nationally and internationally for its Mines, Industrial and Geological Heritage, where it is also known for its Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Castelo. The vastness of its fields and the plain as far as the eye can see characterize this municipality, whose seat is considered one of the oldest settlements in Portugal.
