The Municipality of Vale de Cambra is one of the 19 municipalities belonging to the District of Aveiro, integrated in the Metropolitan Area of ??Porto and in the territory of the Magic Mountains, title of European heritage wealth. It is located at the confluence of the Caima, Vigues and Muscoso rivers, forming part of the North Region and sub-region of Entre Douro and Vouga.
Vale de Cambra currently has a geographical area of ??147 km² divided by 6 parishes and a Union of Parishes. Geographically, it is limited to the north by the municipalities of Arouca, to the east by São Pedro do Sul, to the southeast by Oliveira de Frades, to the south by Sever do Vouga and to the west by Oliveira de Azeméis.
Benefiting from a mild climate, very rainy in winter and sunny in summer, the relief is very varied, with Atlantic exposure. The Caima River is the first important tributary on the right bank of the Vouga River, offering water courses that invite leisure.
The development and national affirmation through the dairy industry, made possible the implantation of some companies of great weight at national and international level, being Vale de Cambra holder of a great industrial power where the sectors of metalworking, packaging, wood and automation deserve biggest highlight.
The optimization of its natural resources, namely the mountains, rivers and valley, secular villages and archaeological finds, as well as the Parque da Cidade, are reasons for great tourist attraction.
