-To discover Sever do Vouga is to travel through landscapes and times left in the right places, by nature and its people who, through popular and erudite wisdom, demarcated this region of the Middle Vouga. Examples of these are very visible for those who travel through the 7 Parishes of the Municipality.
Located in the Center of the Country, more specifically on the Eastern edge of the District of Aveiro, the Municipality of Sever do Vouga benefits from the relative proximity of some important urban centers, namely Aveiro, Coimbra, Porto and the proximity of two of the main Portuguese road axes, the A1, which connects Lisbon to Porto and the A25, through the access and opening of the municipality to the country and Europe.
Its neighboring Counties are Vale de Cambra, Águeda, Albergaria-a-Velha and Oliveira de Azeméis, all belonging to the District of Aveiro and Oliveira de Frades belonging to the District of Viseu.
It consists of seven Parishes: Union of Parishes of Cedrim do Vouga and Paradela do Vouga, Couto de Esteves, Pessegueiro do Vouga, Rocas do Vouga, Sever do Vouga, Union of Parishes of Silva Escura and Doenelas and Talhadas.
Despite being administratively part of Beira Litoral, it is much more a transition space between Beira Litoral (mountain range) and the Litoral due to the geomorphological and cultural nature - built and popular heritage - that determine the typicality of an inland region.
