The Northern region of Portugal is subdivided into the sub-regions of the North Coast (Viana do Castelo, Braga and Porto districts) and the Interior Norte (districts of Vila Real and Bragança). In geographical terms, the Northern Region corresponds approximately to the former provinces of Entre-Douro and Minho and Trás-os-Montes.
